About your provider

Hi, I'm Ash. Thank you for being here. I know it can be daunting finding a therapist, so let's see if I am a good fit.

First, a little about my education and experience. I graduated from New Mexico State University with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. I got my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I am a nationally certified counselor and licensed in the state of Texas.

I started in 503c non-profit providing career, education and mental health counseling to veterans and their families. I then moved to crisis care working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals around the Houston area. Recently I worked in a community based IOP (intensive outpatient) with children and families with low socioeconomic status and other social and emotional difficulties. And now, I am working in private practice, trying to reach as many people as I can.

But enough of that, a little about me. I was born and raised in Alaska. I married into the military and spent the next 10 years moving from Alaska to New Mexico, to Florida, and finally here to Texas. I love nature and being outside on those rare but amazing cool days here in Texas. Though I can’t pass up time to myself watching tv or reading a book. I am a breast cancer survivor and thriver and, like many, have struggled with mental health in the past. I am not in the business of passing judgment on anyone, I know we all have stuff going on. I hope that, if you need it, you will allow someone to help you lighten the load.
